Bristol-based Nasa Umbrella Ltd has reported a “year of strong performance,” following its inclusion in Insider’s latest South West OMB100 rankings.
Founded in 2006, the company provides payroll umbrella services for contractors, alongside CIS, payroll processing, and HMRC compliance. Newly filed accounts for the year ending 5 April 2025 show turnover increased to £788.8 million, up from just over £777 million the previous year. Pre-tax profits also rose significantly, reaching £6.6 million compared with £3.7 million in 2024.
The company employed an average of 4,829 people, including directors, up from 4,576 in the prior year. Nasa Umbrella was among the major businesses recognised in the South West OMB100 report.
A statement accompanying the results highlighted the company’s focus on compliance and financial management. “Nasa Umbrella has had a year of strong performance culminating in a significant increase in its balance sheet and cash reserves. This has been based on a focus of continued business compliance and sound financial and treasury management in a UK labour market that remained static,” the statement said.
Looking ahead, Nasa Umbrella anticipates ongoing challenges in a tight labour market but remains optimistic about growth. “The current trading year is being characterised by a continued tight labour market and our KPI’s show us to performing at the same levels as the previous financial year. We foresee significant growth in the 2026/27 year as supplier consolidation occurs through higher compliance requirements with legislation. Our umbrella company is well placed to support clients trading operations under those new requirements,” the statement added.
The company’s performance reflects both its operational scale and ability to navigate regulatory and market pressures, positioning it strongly for future growth.
