A Bedfordshire HVAC specialist has been brought into a newly created technical services group as part of a growth strategy aimed at strengthening support for commercial and industrial clients across the South East. D-MEC Services, which is headquartered in Leighton Buzzard, has been acquired by the Berkshire based Empower Group, a company formed in 2025 by Denis Piffaretti, Florian Kronawitter and Nick Manning. The move marks another step in the consolidation of the regional heating, ventilation and air conditioning sector and provides a platform for expanded services under the focus key phrase Empower Group HVAC acquisition.
D-MEC Services has spent years building a reputation for delivering design, installation, servicing and planned preventative maintenance to customers in healthcare, education, aerospace and manufacturing. Its combination of technical knowledge and long term contractual relationships has positioned it as a trusted supplier to organisations that rely on highly regulated environments. The Empower Group HVAC acquisition is expected to reinforce that position by increasing access to investment, specialist expertise and collaborative support from a larger organisation.
The new owners say their ambition is to create a group capable of offering comprehensive building services solutions for complex commercial estates. Manning, one of the founders of Empower Group, said the addition of D-MEC brings a business with respected credentials and a client first approach. He said: “We are delighted to welcome D-MEC to the Empower Group. Their reputation, technical capability, and client first approach are second to none in the UK HVAC market. Paul and his team have built a highly respected business, and we look forward to supporting them as they continue to grow in a market with a very positive long-term outlook.”
For D-MEC Services, the acquisition is being framed as an opportunity to maintain continuity while gaining the resources to develop further. Managing director Paul Dowdeswell said the company is enthusiastic about the next stage and committed to providing the same standards that its customers rely on. He said: “We all are excited to become part of the Empower Group and to work with Nick and his team to ensure D-MEC Services’ continued progression in offering our existing and new clients the highest level of service that they have come to expect from us.”
The Empower Group HVAC acquisition reflects a broader trend in the building services market. Rising expectations for energy efficiency, air quality and compliant maintenance regimes are driving demand for providers that can manage multiple parts of the lifecycle of large facilities. With the formation of Empower Group and its first significant addition in D-MEC Services, the founders are positioning the company to meet that need with integrated support across technical disciplines.
