An Oxfordshire father has won £10,000 every month for a year after matching five numbers on The National Lottery Set for Life draw.
The happily married house manager, who usually plays Lotto or EuroMillions, decided to try his luck on Set for Life after taking a break from playing for around a year.
The decision paid off.
His prize guarantees £10,000 a month for the next 12 months – a total of £120,000 – which he says will transform his family’s future.
“It’s Unbelievable”
Speaking after discovering his win, the father of two said:
“It’s unbelievable! Such a relief to know it’s going to change my family’s future.
“It feels like jumping out of a plane and feeling safe because I have a parachute whereas before I’d have only had an umbrella!”
The winner plans to invest the money for his family, creating what he describes as a stronger financial safety net.
A Life-Changing Year Ahead
Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, congratulated the Oxfordshire-based winner.
“Congratulations to our lucky winner and his family! We are so pleased that this prize will make such a difference to their lives and wish them all the best in their investments… and in treating themselves!”
Set for Life offers players the chance to win fixed monthly payments, providing a steady income rather than a one-off lump sum.
How to Play Set for Life
Players can buy and check tickets online via The National Lottery app or website. Tickets are also available in retail stores.
Playing online means tickets are automatically checked, and players receive email notifications if they win. Retail tickets can also be scanned using the app.
Beyond individual wins, National Lottery games raise around £32 million each week for Good Causes across the UK. Since launch, more than £52 billion has been generated to support projects spanning arts, sport, community initiatives and heritage.
For one Oxfordshire family, however, the focus is now firmly on the year ahead – and a monthly £10,000 boost that feels like a parachute when it matters most.
