At this year’s Meat Management Awards, Wicks Manor Farm in Essex has announced that it has been crowned Best Charcuterie Product for its Smoked Sliced Ham – and they are over the moon.
On top of this victory, their Olde English Sausages and Smoked Streaky Bacon were also named finalists in the Best Sausage and Best Bacon categories.
Hundreds enter the annual Meat Management Awards from across the country every year, to celebrate the very best in the UK meat industry and in the hopes to impress the panel of industry experts, to take home the win.
“These awards mean so much to us because they recognise the care, dedication and traditional farming methods that go into everything we produce,” comments Fergus Howie, MD at Wicks Manor. “Our pigs are reared right here on the family farm in Essex, and from there, every step of the process – from smoking to slicing – is done with pride and attention to detail. Having three of our products recognised at such a respected industry event is a huge honour, and it’s all down to the hard work of our fantastic team and the continued support of our loyal customers.”
Wicks were against tough competition in the Best Charcuterie category – battling Trailhead Fine Foods, Mount Grace Charcuterie Ltd, The Farmers Son and Martin Thomas Butchers.
Fergus continues: “For us, this achievement is a real highlight and a reminder of why we love doing what we do: creating delicious pork products for everyone to enjoy. We’re so proud of what we produce here at Wicks Manor and are very grateful for this recognition.”
