Pupils Shine in Taylor Wimpey Flag Design Competition at Bryanston Holt

School pupils at Milldown CE Academy in Blandford Forum have put their creativity centre stage through a vibrant flag design competition hosted by Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties. The challenge invited pupils to design an imaginative and eye catching flag to welcome residents and visitors to Bryanston Holt, the housebuilder’s development in Lower Bryanston.

Entries from across the school showcased bold colours and inventive ideas, giving the Southern Counties team a difficult choice. The winning design came from a joint effort by Verity and Seren in Year 3. Both pupils each received a £50 Amazon voucher for their achievement, while the school received a £250 donation in recognition of its involvement. Their flag now flies proudly at the Bryanston Holt development, greeting everyone who arrives.

Laura King, Deputy Head at Milldown CE Academy, celebrated the pupils’ enthusiasm and generosity. She said: “The flag design competition brought together students from across the school for an afternoon of collaboration and creativity. The talented designers of the winning flag chose to use their prize money to purchase new toys for all children to enjoy during break times – an incredibly thoughtful gesture that reflects the caring and community-minded ethos we strive to nurture. In addition, the donation from Taylor Wimpey to the school will go towards work we are doing to enhance our outside learning environment.”

Roz Wells, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, praised the impressive standard of entries and the value of involving young people. She said: “We were thrilled to invite pupils at Milldown CE Academy to take part in our flag design competition. We’re always seeking ways to get young people involved in the work we do and the competition shows just how talented the pupils are. Verity and Seren’s colourful flag looks fabulous at Bryanston Holt, and makes for an eye-catching welcome for people visiting our development.”
