Local residents are being invited to have their say in the Salden Park development consultation, as Taylor Wimpey South Midlands seeks feedback on its plans for the next phase of homes in Buckinghamshire.
The national housebuilder is preparing a Reserved Matters planning application for phase 1C of the Salden Park development, which will include 194 new homes. The proposals feature a mix of one to five-bedroom houses and apartments, with 34% of the properties set aside as affordable housing.
An online consultation will take place from Monday 20th October to Thursday 31st October 2025, during which residents and local stakeholders can review the proposed plans and share their comments.
Gemma Davies, Senior Planning Manager at Taylor Wimpey South Midlands, said that community feedback plays a vital role in shaping the development. “Collating the views of local residents is an essential part of our development process, and we’re keen to gather as much feedback as we can from residents about our plans for the next phase of development at Salden Park,” she said. “Our proposed plans will be available to view on our website throughout the consultation period, so everyone can review the proposals at their convenience. We look forward to showcasing our plans in due course.”
The Salden Park development consultation will help refine the designs and layout before the planning application is submitted to Buckinghamshire Council in Autumn 2025.
The wider Salden Park project received outline planning permission in December 2022 for a total of 1,855 homes, alongside open green spaces and community facilities. Taylor Wimpey is now progressing with individual phases of the development through Reserved Matters applications.
The next phase of the site is located in Salden Park’s southern neighbourhood, just south of Phase 1A—known as Salden Place East—which is already under construction and currently on sale. Access to the new area will be via Garner Street, running north to south through the development.
Taylor Wimpey has placed a strong emphasis on ensuring the neighbourhood’s design promotes safe, inclusive, and active living. Green open spaces will be carefully planned to complement the overall layout and create a welcoming environment. Play areas will be evenly distributed so that all residents can easily reach them, supporting both accessibility and community interaction.
All play facilities will be designed to achieve a “Good” rating under recognised play value standards, with a range of options including Local Equipped Areas for Play, Neighbourhood Equipped Areas for Play, Multi-Use Games Areas, and skate parks. Informal “Play On The Way” equipment will be installed every 100 metres along key pedestrian routes, encouraging movement and active play across the development. Two-metre-wide footpaths will ensure easy access, with benches placed no more than 250 metres apart to promote rest and social connection. Tree planting across the site will use robust species to encourage long-term growth and stability.
By taking part in the Salden Park development consultation, residents can help influence the next stage of this significant Buckinghamshire project. The feedback gathered will shape how Salden Park continues to grow as a safe, inclusive, and well-designed community that reflects the needs of those who live and work there.
