Kia UK is proud to announce the PV5 Passenger 7-seat as its latest vehicle now eligible for the Government Electric Car Grant (ECG), reducing the vehicle’s on-the-road price by £1,500 across the range.
Consequently, the entry-grade PV5 Passenger 7-seat ‘Essential’ is now available from £35,495 on-the-road, including the grant.
The grant applies to all grades of the PV5 Passenger 7-seat, including ‘Essential’, ‘Plus’ and the recently introduced top-spec ‘Elite’. Designed to meet growing demand for flexible multi-passenger mobility, the PV5 Passenger 7-seat combines generous interior space, fully electric performance and advanced connectivity in a highly versatile package. The versatile MPV design is suited to a multitude of uses, including families, shuttle operators, ride-hailing services, airport transfers and other shared mobility applications.
Building on the existing PV5 Passenger line-up, the 7-seat model features a practical 2-2-3 seating configuration across three rows, offering generous comfort and legroom for all occupants. A low 399mm step-in height via dual sliding side doors ensures easy access to both the second and third rows, while flexible seating arrangements provide from 350 litres of luggage capacity behind the third row, expanding to 3,430 litres with the both the second and third row seats folded.
The PV5 Passenger 7-seat is exclusively available in the UK with the Long Range 71.2kWh battery, delivering up to 246 miles of range (WLTP combined). Supported by rapid DC charging of up to 150kW, the battery can be replenished from 10-to-80% in under 30 minutes.
Like all PV5, the Passenger 7-seat is based on Kia’s dedicated E-GMP.S (Electric-Global Modular Platform for Service) platform, designed to deliver class-leading interior packaging, including up to 1,041mm of legroom in the front; 977mm in the second row and 970mm in the third row, accompanied by over a metre of headroom in each row and ample shoulder room.
Every PV5 variant – including both Cargo and Passenger models sold to business and retail customers – is exclusively available to order from Kia PBV Centres located across the UK. The latest PBV Centre network information can be found here: https://www.kia.com/uk/utility/find-a-dealer/
Kia’s growing number of Electric Car Grant eligible vehicles
With this latest announcement, Kia has further expanded its already broad range of electric vehicles eligible for the Government Electric Car Grant, helping more retail and fleet customers make the switch to electric mobility. Kia is currently one of only eleven* brands to offer fully electric cars with the maximum ECG, highlighting the brand’s strong environmental manufacturing credentials required to qualify for the grant.
The Kia EV2, EV3, EV4 and PV5 Passenger are each available with the ECG, with selected grades qualifying for either the maximum Band 1 £3,750 grant or Band 2 £1,500 grant; see table below:

The Electric Car Grant
The UK Government’s ECG is exclusively available for electric cars adhering to strict minimum criteria covering emissions, range, sustainability and warranty support.
The ECG criteria requires a manufacturer to have SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative) verification, which sets greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets in line with what is required to keep global heating below damaging levels, and reach net-zero by 2050 at the latest.
Kia’s environmental journey
Kia plans to have introduced 15 EV models and 10 HEV models by 2030, while Kia is also committed to manufacturing sites being powered by 100% renewable energy by 2040. The company is pursuing multiple global initiatives to achieve carbon neutrality across the entire product lifecycle by 2045, including achieving RE100, conducting Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) for all vehicle models, and strengthening its electrification strategy.
