OUT NOW VIA INTERIOR DESIGN
UK & EU TOUR COMMENCES THIS WEEK
German artist Dolphin Love is the light in the dark. Sun-drenched, irresistible, fuzzy, luscious, kaleidoscopic. Romantic, psychedelic soundscapes drenched in reverb collide with a distorted, funky electric guitar. His new single, ‘WILL YOU EVER LET ME KNOW’, released today via Interior Design, thrives on these contrasts, on the tension created by the unlikely combination of sounds and emotions. It exists somewhere between melancholy, nervous energy and pure happiness, between hope, euphoria and sadness.
Dolphin Love is currently on his first headline UK run of shows, playing at venues across Bristol, Southampton, London and Manchester. Following this is a run of dates across France, Austria, Luxembourg, Germany and the Netherlands. Full details below. Buy tickets HERE.
Beneath all the reverb and effects, he sings about a love that has never been spoken out loud. About two people who might finally find peace if they could just admit how they feel, yet somehow keep passing each other by, both in life and in their emotions. The question in the title, “Will you ever let me know?”, hangs over the entire song, lingering without ever being answered.
Then, at some point, the song takes flight. The synths carry it into entirely different realms, as if it were trying to escape – just like the two protagonists are trying to escape their own feelings. And yet, hope never quite disappears. Because as long as songs like this exist, anything is still possible. Even the greatest love.

The artist’s name came from a bar where a friend worked, the Dolphin Hotel in Sydney. There, Dolphin Love was born in 2020: songs drifting between lightness and a sense of liberation, between melancholy and utopia. “I really felt like starting a personal music project again,” he recalls. Music has been a constant part of Dolphin Love’s life after all: “I’ve always written my own songs,” he says. There were a few bands he played in during his youth, but he also kept tinkering with his own songs on the side. When pandemic travel restrictions left him stuck in Australia in 2020, it somehow turned out to be exactly the right moment to go back to all those ideas, sketches, and thoughts he’d always kept in the background, and tackle them properly for the first time.
Since then, he’s released a number of ethereal, beautiful singles and three stunning EPs: 999 (2022), who speaks your mind (2023), and NOT FROM HERE (2025). Each of them feels like an exercise in weightlessness, reconfiguring how casual and psychedelic, how playful and free indie pop can sound. His diverse musical influences have shaped his own approach to songwriting and his artistic vocabulary: from ’60s or ’70s bands with a quirky hippie sound, or the sound of the 2010s with its post-financial crisis melancholy, like Foals. It’s artists like Tame Impala and his nostalgic future sound, the nerds behind MGMT, or Blood Orange, crafting experimental R&B out of biographical sketches. “I’ve always been drawn to music that’s nerdy – where you can spend hours tinkering with your synthesizers,” he says, laughing. “I’m looking for a sound I’ve never quite heard before, for music that speaks for itself.”
Dolphin Love’s music celebrates both intense feelings and small instances of tranquility – deeply personal as well as universal; it’s music about life’s highs and lows, and above all, again and again, about the beauty of a moment and the grief over its passing. Dolphin Love is the feeling of watching a brief second of stillness disappear, the euphoria that lies in impermanence, and the map for a road trip that never quite finds its destination.
