Florence was the perfect place to begin, but our vision goes further: to build a distinctive hospitality identity that can evolve and be reinterpreted in other extraordinary destinations, while preserving the same sense of individuality and experience.”
Andrea Cecchi — CEO & Founder, Palazzo Sogni

History and Heritage
The history of Palazzo Sogni traces back to the sixteenth century. Originally part of Palazzo Testa, it was constructed by the Martelli family during the height of the Renaissance.
For more than five centuries, the property has stood as a striking symbol of Florentine culture and heritage. At its core is the monumental nymphaeum, featuring the spectacular stone fountain traditionally attributed to Baccio Bandinelli. Between the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, an exquisite collection of frescoes was created by Luigi Catani and Antonio Marini, among the most respected artists of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany.
Palazzo Sogni embodies the cosmopolitan spirit of contemporary Florence today. A unique couture hotel where history and heritage come alive with a fresh vision and subtle sophistication.
Couture Hospitality
Palazzo Sogni’s luxurious 30 rooms and suites feature intriguing architectural elements and sensitively restored frescoes. Conservation and preservation of authentic design details bring Florentine history to life, while beautifully finished interiors and first-class service meet the discerning expectations of the modern traveller.
Palettes of powder blue, sage green, ivory and brass accents echo throughout the furnishings and textiles, paying homage to the Palazzo’s frescoes. Velvets, embroidered silks, and bespoke jacquard fabrics enhance the aesthetic, while custom-made furniture crafted by Florentine artisans showcases contemporary creativity. Sumptuous bathrooms feature onyx surfaces, giving a high-end luminous quality to each space. Attention to detail flows throughout Palazzo Sogni from the Rivolta Carmignani linens to Santa Maria Novella amenities, not forgetting the joyful in-room ‘Press for Champagne’ brass buttons. Each element enriches the unforgettable essence of Palazzo Sogni’s identity.
Classic and Contemporary Design
Palazzo Sogni is the combined creation of entrepreneur and hotelier Andrea Cecchi and designers Elena and Giulia Sella, celebrated globally for their immersive experiences and design-led projects. A trailblazing project that successfully interweaves hospitality, design, and imagination, Palazzo Sogni is a shining example of how dreams can really be transformed into reality. It is this philosophy that flows throughout the palazzo, elegantly elevating the hospitality experience into something exceptional, dreamlike and utterly magical.
“For us, true luxury is the ability to evoke emotion. When we first stepped into this palace, we imagined a place where dreams would become the common thread running through every detail, transforming every stay into an experience to be lived and remembered. From this vision, Palazzo Sogni was born: a new interpretation of hospitality, where history, design, art, and experiences merge to create a timeless atmosphere capable of inspiring wonder, where dreams come to life and become memories to treasure.”

The Frescoes Restoration & Revival
The sensitive restoration of the frescoes at Palazzo Sogni represented a major conservation project, carried out by a team connected to the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze and coordinated by Francesca Marsini. Through the careful removal of later layers of paint, followed by cleaning and consolidation of the original painted surfaces, decorations that had remained hidden for years were gradually brought back to light.
The restoration revealed precious pictorial cycles spanning several centuries, from the 17th century through the late 18th and early 19th centuries, including frescoes by Luigi Catani (1762–1840), a renowned Florentine painter who also worked at Palazzo Pitti. The meticulous artisan work has restored the rooms to their former splendour, unveiling their long-hidden frescoes and marking a true rebirth of the Palazzo.
The Florentine Fountain
At the heart of Palazzo Sogni is the monumental fountain, created in the 16th century at the height of the Florentine Renaissance, it forms the dramatic focal point of the historic nymphaeum. Attributed to Baccio Bandinelli, the fountain is carved in stone and features a basin decorated with bas-relief, set within a naturalistic composition enriched with textural elements evoking grottoes, rocks and mineral formations.
Its craftsmanship combines stone sculpture, ornamental modelling and the theatrical use of water, following the tradition of the great Florentine Renaissance gardens. The nymphaeum celebrates the dialogue between art, nature and wonder, with water serving as a symbol of life, transformation and rebirth.
Bespoke Artisan Textiles
Palazzo Sogni’s textiles were an integral part of the project’s original design and character. The Floral Butterfly Fabric was inspired by the Palazzo’s dreamlike universe and crafted in bespoke silk-based jacquard by Alessandro Bini. The pattern was engineered specifically for weaving, with a dedicated loom set-up developed to achieve the desired texture, relief and material richness.
The palette, ranging from powder pink and sage green to pale blue and ochre, draws directly from the colours of the restored frescoes and is paired with high-quality, softly iridescent velvets, creating a sophisticated and tactile result deeply rooted in Florentine craftsmanship.
Custom-made Tableware
Throughout the restaurants and event spaces at Palazzo Sogni, you will find a bespoke tableware collection, designed and crafted by Florentine artisans Ginori 1735, paying homage to Florence’s authentic and artistic traditions.
The Antico Doccia line was exclusively reinterpreted in the signature powder blue that runs throughout the project, while plates, cups and the tea service were personally decorated for Palazzo Sogni with floral and butterfly motifs inspired by the hotel’s signature pattern. The result is a unique, dreamlike collection created exclusively for Palazzo Sogni.

Flavours of Florence
Gourmet experiences at Palazzo Sogni can be enjoyed from dawn to dusk in three unique dining environments, each with its own captivating charm.
Segreto is the palace’s sophisticated signature restaurant. An elegant setting where romantic courtyard gardens lead to botanically inspired interiors that work together in subtle synergy. Querini is well established in Florence’s fine-dining scene and was previously chef at Luca’s by Paulo Airaudo, which was awarded a Michelin Star in 2025.
The menu reflects the spirit of Palazzo Sogni through refined contemporary Italian cuisine, where familiar flavours and seasonal ingredients meet premium produce such as caviar, truffle, langoustines and porcini mushrooms. The dreamlike concept extends to the cuisine itself, transforming something simple into an experience is unexpected, elegant and evocative.
Among the signature dishes is the Uovo Segreto, which captures the unique identity of the restaurant: seemingly simple, yet layered and refined, with potato and leek foam and fresh white truffle when in season. The Risotto Segreto, with cauliflower cream and almond ragù, plays with delicacy, texture, and contrast, turning familiar ingredients into something sophisticated.
