Meachers Global Logistics welcomed Darren Paffey MP for a behind-the-scenes visit of its Carnival cruise logistics operation, highlighting the critical role the business plays in supporting the Port of Southampton and the wider UK cruise industry.
The visit forms part of a wider Southampton engagement programme, where Darren met with industry representatives before touring both Meachers’ facilities and port operations. During the visit, Darren Paffey MP experienced first-hand how Meachers supports Carnival UK through a dedicated logistics partnership, including a recent long-term agreement that underpins the movement of goods essential to cruise operations.
The tour included a hosted visit to Meachers’ site in Nursling, where the MP was introduced to the scale, precision, and coordination required to manage complex cruise supply chains. He then continued to the Port of Southampton for a terminal tour, providing further insight into how logistics providers, port operators, and cruise lines work together to deliver seamless passenger experiences.
The visit provided an opportunity to demonstrate the often unseen but essential logistics infrastructure that supports the cruise sector.
