Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has gratefully received a large furniture donation from Clarion Housing. The furniture has been distributed across the trust, but some have also helped to furnish the new Macmillan Cancer Support Centre that is soon to open at Ashford Hospital in Surrey.
Mark Ball, Associate Director of Estates and Facilities at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals said: “We are really grateful to Clarion Housing for their generous donation of a variety of furniture, which we have been able to put to good use to improve the hospital environment in a green and sustainable way. Patients and visitors have already been enjoying the café style tables and chairs outside our Retreat café at St Peter’s Hospital.
“The Macmillan Cancer Support Centre at Ashford Hospital has given storage cabinets and chairs a good home in their office space and the flip top meeting room tables look fantastic in the multi-use room. The rest of the furniture will be distributed across the trust over the coming months, where it is needed.”
Tony Cook, Head of Property and Facilities at Clarion, said: “Following the closure of one of our southern region offices we were delighted to donate a range of office furniture to Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, helping to ensure quality furnishings continue to benefit the community. The donation included tables, storage units, chairs and other workplace furniture that will now be reused across NHS facilities thereby reducing unnecessary waste.
“We are always looking for ways to maximise the value of our resources and it’s fantastic that this furniture will continue to be put to good use by the NHS rather than going to waste. It’s a practical way we can support the local community’s healthcare services while also reducing our environmental impact.”
