MG is celebrating another major milestone in its 100+ year history, marking the landmark achievement of its parent automotive operations surpassing 100 million customers worldwide.
The milestone reflects MG’s remarkable evolution from its origins as a British sports car marque founded in 1924 to one of the world’s fastest-growing automotive brands today. Combining over a century of heritage, accessible innovation and an expanding portfolio of electric and electrified vehicles, MG continues to connect with customers across generations and global markets, while shaping the future of modern mobility.
At a special ceremony at its headquarters in London, William Wang, Managing Director of MG Motor UK and Europe, handed over the key of an MG4 EV Urban to the global group’s 100,000,001 customer, Natalia Nobes, who comes from a multi-generation family of MG fans dating back to her grandfather’s classic MG.
Speaking at the ceremony, William Wang, described the milestone as: “A testament to the trust that drivers around the world have placed in MG – a brand built on British heritage, shaped by decades of innovation, and now powered by some of the most advanced technology available.”
“Behind each of those 100 million+ journeys is a human story of individuals moving forward, families connecting, businesses advancing, and communities growing. This achievement represents far more than a number. It stands as a powerful reflection to the trust placed in MG and the scale of our global impact.” William added.
As the 100,000,001 customer, Natalia Nobes’ connection to MG stretches back to her childhood, where her grandfather’s cherished classic MG always fascinated her.
“As a child, I would sit in my grandfather’s MGB and imagine what it might be like to drive one, and it is a memory that has stayed with me ever since.” said Natalia.
That childhood dream becomes reality in the more modern form of a new electric MG – the all-new MG4 EV Urban, a spacious hatchback built for city life.
“This moment feels really special” said Natalia at the handover ceremony. “In a way, it feels like everything has come full circle from being inspired by something nostalgic while also stepping into something new. With the MG4 EV Urban, it feels like I’m moving into something modern and forward-looking, while still staying connected to that same MG I grew up with.”
