Southampton FC Unveil New 2026/27 Away Kit Inspired By The Solent

Southampton Football Club have unveiled their new away kit for the 2026/27 season, with the latest Saints strip going on sale from today.

The new design takes its inspiration from one of the most recognisable features of Southampton and the surrounding area – the Solent – as the club continues its “Southampton Made” campaign celebrating the city and its identity.

Saints will head out on the road this season wearing a distinctive ultra blue shirt complemented by light pink detailing, creating a significant departure from the traditional red and white colours associated with the club’s home strips.

One of the most eye-catching features of the new shirt is the Southampton FC crest, which has been given an iridescent finish for the away design.

The effect adds another modern element to a kit intended to represent the changing colours, movement and character of the water surrounding the city.

Southampton has a long-standing connection with the sea, from its maritime heritage and famous docks to the millions of passengers who continue to travel through the city each year.

That relationship with the waterfront has provided the inspiration for the latest chapter of the club’s Southampton Made campaign.

Rather than simply producing a contrasting colour scheme for games away from St Mary’s, the club has sought to give the shirt a clear connection to the place the team represents.

The ultra blue colour provides the strongest reference to the Solent, while the lighter pink elements give the strip a distinctive appearance which should make it immediately recognisable when Saints are playing away from home.

The iridescent badge is another unusual feature and helps give the shirt a different look depending on the light and angle from which it is viewed – fitting with the wider water-inspired theme behind the design.

It follows the club’s efforts to place Southampton itself at the heart of its identity for the new campaign, connecting supporters, players and the city through the Southampton Made concept.

For fans, the release also means the latest piece of the club’s 2026/27 collection is now available ahead of the season getting fully underway.

Southampton have confirmed the new away kit is available from today, Friday, August 7, with versions being offered in men’s, women’s and junior sizes.

The range means younger Saints supporters will also be able to wear the same colours as the first team, while the introduction of dedicated men’s and women’s sizing gives fans a broader choice.

Away kits have increasingly become an opportunity for football clubs to experiment with colours and designs that would not normally feature on their traditional home shirts.

For Southampton, however, this season’s design also carries a local story.

The Solent has helped shape Southampton economically, culturally and geographically for generations, making the decision to use its colours and movement as inspiration particularly appropriate for a club seeking to emphasise its connection with its home city.

The blue and pink combination is likely to generate plenty of discussion among supporters, particularly as fans get their first opportunity to see the shirt up close and eventually watch Saints wearing it in competitive action.

While Southampton’s famous red and white will remain at the heart of the club, the new away strip offers something deliberately different for the journeys beyond St Mary’s.

And wherever Southampton travel during the 2026/27 campaign, the club hopes its players and supporters will be taking a little piece of the Solent with them.
