GYTR GRT Yamaha Ready for Penultimate Round in Estoril

The GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team pairing of Remy Gardner and Stefano Manzi will return to action this weekend, 9–11 October, at the Autodromo do Estoril in Portugal, for the penultimate round of the 2026 FIM Superbike World Championship season.
Following an unfortunate weekend in Cremona, Remy Gardner is looking to make his return after missing Sunday’s action at the last round due to a fracture of the fifth metacarpal bone in his left hand. The Australian is feeling better and aims to be back on track in Portugal, a venue where he has enjoyed some strong results in previous years and which holds positive memories for him.

Stefano Manzi will race the Autodromo do Estoril on the Yamaha R1 for the first time, and will be looking to finish his rookie WorldSBK season on a high. The 2025 WorldSSP Champion has fond memories of the Portuguese track, having secured his title there last year. With the circuit having suited him well in the past, Manzi is aiming to continue his progress and enjoy a strong season finale.
Both riders will take to the track on Saturday for Race 1 at 15:30 local time, following the Superpole qualifying session at 11:15. Sunday will bring the weekend to a close with the Superpole Race at 11:10 and Race 2 at 15:30.

Remy Gardner
“First of all, my hand is getting better, so I’m looking to return this weekend. It won’t be easy as it’s still not fully recovered, but I feel confident about riding and I think we could have a good weekend there. We were strong there last year, and I’m looking forward to racing in Portugal once again. Hopefully, we’ll be able to stay close to the front group and enjoy a solid weekend together with the whole team. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and see what happens.”

Stefano Manzi
“I’m eager to be back on track and, of course, I have very good memories of this place, having secured the WorldSSP title there last year. It should also be a track that can highlight the Yamaha R1’s strengths, so I hope we’ll be able to stay close to the front pack and enjoy a good weekend there. We’re all targeting a positive end to the season and we’ll be pushing hard to make it happen, so let’s go for it.”
